FAQ

The questions merchants ask before they install.

The questions merchants ask before they install, answered the way we'd answer them on a call.

Product#

Is this only for wheels and tires? No. It works for any product whose fitment depends on the vehicle — suspension, brakes, lighting, exhaust and intake, exterior and protection, towing, service parts. Spec fields in the index are typed rather than hard-coded, so your attributes behave the way wheel measurements do. The only wheel-and-tire-specific thing in the product is the optional data add-on.

Does it work with my theme? Any Online Store 2.0 theme. Vintage themes can run the app embeds — persistent bar, garage, autocomplete — but not the section blocks.

Will it slow my store down? It shouldn't, and on large collections it usually helps: fitment filtering happens in a search index, not in Liquid. See performance for what actually loads.

Do I have to use all nine widgets? No. Three get a working funnel — the app embed, the hero and the collection page. Add the rest when you want them.

Can I keep my theme's collection page? The WySync grid replaces the product grid only. Your banner, description, breadcrumbs and everything else stay as they are.

Does it support VIN lookup? Not today. If VIN decoding is a requirement, say so — it's on the roadmap and your use case would shape it.

What about non-Shopify platforms? The app is Shopify-only. Our separate data subscriptions are platform-agnostic.

Fitment data#

I don't have any fitment data. Can I still use this? Connect a supplier feed, upload a CSV, or start with tags — those cover every category. If you sell wheels or tires specifically, the $150/mo Fitment Data add-on can judge their specs against our curated vehicle data with no mappings at all.

What if two sources disagree? The union means the wider claim wins. If a source is reliably wrong, exclude those vehicles in the editor — exclusions beat every source.

Will my tags keep working? Yes, if they match the fits_… grammar. If they're in a house format, send us a sample — most can be read with a small parser rather than a re-tag.

Does it write to my products? Never. WySync reads tags, metafields and collections. It writes nothing to your catalog. The only thing it writes anywhere is line item properties at checkout, and vehicle landing pages if you turn them on.

Commercial#

Is there a setup fee? No, on any plan. Setup, the theme install and the first index are included.

What happens after the trial? The subscription starts on the plan you chose. Uninstalling before day 30 charges nothing.

Do you cap traffic? No. No session, search or API metering.

Can I change plans? Upgrade any time with proration; downgrades take effect at renewal so you don't lose a source mid-month.

How does migration work if I'm on another fitment app? Install alongside, let the switcher capture what your current app resolves, verify, then cancel. Free on every plan — see migrating.

Operations#

Who answers support? The engineering team. Storefront-down issues jump the queue on every plan.

What happens if your service goes down? The storefront degrades rather than breaks: retry the index, show an honest indexing state, then fall back to Shopify directly. A missing answer becomes unconfirmed, never a false fits.

Where is my data? Your own search index and configuration, processed in the United States, scoped to your shop with no shared tables. Details in privacy.

What happens if I uninstall? Charges stop immediately, your data is deleted within 48 hours of Shopify's redact webhook, and your catalog is untouched — see uninstalling.
